Joseph Kony v.s Caine's Arcade
Have you ever heard of Kony 2012? You haven't? Then, how about Caine's Arcade? Today I'm going to introduce these two videos to you. These two videos both have problems. For the Kony 2012, the kids in Uganda are living in an unsafe environment. For Caine's Arcade, he doesn't have any customers in his cardboard arcade. These two videos were spread rapidly SNS sites such as facebook. These two are for their fame and popularity.
Kony 2012 is made to catch Joseph Kony by making him famous. By doing this, Obama sends soldiers to stop him. The main character is Jacob, who was in the group of Kony but escaped. While running away, his brother was caught by one of them and was killed. This video looks real and is so scary, isn't it? However, it is is an video made 8-9 years ago, kind of old. For now, we have no idea whether Kony is dead or not. Also, he might not be in Uganda. He might also be in Korea, maybe. We totally have no idea about it.
On the other hand, Caine's arcade is made to let Caine be famous so he can have more customers. It shows us how Caine built an arcade with boxes. A young boy making all these games, learning, and earning money reminds us hoe we used to play when we were young.
Now, have you watched both videos? Then, how do you think about them? For now, let's talk about Joseph Kony. Do you consider him as a bad guy? Why? He seems to be as we see in the picture. But , if you see this Video, I bet you would be tempted to change your mind. Also, when we see his appearance, he looks like a kind man, doesn't he?
How do you think after seeing this video? Do you really consider Kony as a bad man?
However, even if he is bad, I think the people in Face book intentionally attract people's attention to get money from them. It is said that only 30% of the money donated is sent to Uganda. Then ,where are the other 70%of money going? They might be used to make blogs, for making some kinds of videos. Don't you think that it is way too much money use for that to? What I think is that 70%of the money should be going to the Uganda, and the other 30%of money for promoting the campaigns. Also, of the video "Caine's arcade", I think that when Caine earns lots of money, and when he grows up, he might change his arcade to a park or something else like that where families can enjoy and where children can play at. :)
